Specializing in the design and installation of telecommunications, nurse call, sound, access control, TV signal distribution, security, CCTV, low voltage control and media systems, Thompson Engineering has distinguished itself as a leading and well-recognized systems integrator with operations in Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange Counties.
Started in 1971, Thompson initially focused itself on the educational market and in 1972 it became a distributor of Rauland-Borg Corporation. Rauland has long enjoyed a reputation as a key player in the development and sale of electronic systems in the educational and healthcare marketplace, and over the years Thompson and Rauland have built a close and mutually beneficial relationship.
While predominantly known within the educational marketplace, Thompson eventually expanded its focus to include healthcare, professional sound reinforcement and security. Thompson currently has systems in over 100 school districts and many hospitals and other healthcare facilities within the three counties in which it operates. In the healthcare arena, it has continued to foster its relationship with Rauland-Borg which is one of the largest suppliers of nurse call equipment in the United States.
In its salute to the top 50 systems integrators in the country, Systems Contractor News lists Thompson as number 37–a testimony to the reputation that Thompson maintains within the industry. With over 50 employees, Thompson has maintained continual growth while still committing itself to providing quality products and installations to its customers. It maintains California C-7 and C-10 contractors’ licenses as well as California Alarm Company licenses, and each member of its design management team is experienced in all aspects of systems integration.
As Thompson reflects upon its 35 years, it is acutely aware of changes within the marketplace and changes in technology. Thompson's goals of providing quality installations of the most current technologies available and satisfying its customers remain unchanged. |
